The Stockton Holga salon is officially the TIGI Academy for the North of England.

After closing its previous academy in Manchester, hair product designers at TIGI were looking to relocate their world renowned academy to add to other locations, which include London, New York and Milan.

Our Stockton salon was chosen after the team took part in a promotional event at St James’ Park in Newcastle.

Holga director, Kevin Smith, said: “This is a very exciting time for us – not only is it a huge accolade for the business, we feel it’s really great news for Stockton.

“Added to that, it will really help other salons in the area; the courses are open to anyone and the relocation will undoubtedly cut down on travel costs.

Kevin appeared at the event in Newcastle as a guest speaker and alongside salon manager, John Sullivan, they delivered speeches and showcased their combined 45 years of hairdressing experience to demonstrate the latest cutting and styling techniques.

Off the back of the team’s success at the event, they were invited to another, where they were approached with the possibility of relocating the academy to Teesside by TIGI founder and international director, Anthony Mascolo.

The move will see cutting edge training and courses run at the Stockton salon on Nelson Terrace.
